The Baron Cottage feels wonderfully relaxed, where diffused sunlight streams into the interior creating serene spaces for quiet moments. Restrained materiality and texture creates a soothing backdrop for family life to take centre stage. The essence of the Baron Cottage is one of ease and relaxation. With its three-sided fireplace as the centrepiece we wanted to play with scale and placement in the space to create drama. The effect gives boundaries in the open plan and allows each space to connect in a way that makes sense for the family. We were brought into this project early which enabled us to respond to the site, and shape a contemporary interior space. It allowed the built form and the interior to work hand in hand to create a wonderfully liveable home.
